Since 2005 FutureFashion has worked with environmentally conscious mills and textile manufacturers to identify, collect and promote the use of renewable, reusable and non-polluting materials and production methods.
We have collected a library of over 600 sustainably produced textiles, including organic materials, sasawashi, pina, bamboo, milk protein and sea leather, which we continue to develop and offer as a resource to designers, including those who create one of a kind pieces for our FutureFashion runway shows.
Our runway shows illustrate the limitless possibilities for sustainable fabrics in the fashion industry, and connect the world's best creative talent with leading producers of these materials.
In 2007 we collected retailers, scientists, dyers, models, designers, retailers and industry leaders, including Diane Von Furstenberg and Julie Gilhart to create and publish FutureFashion White Papers, a collection of thirty essays that examine the fashion industry and explore how it will move toward sustainability.
Each of our FutureFashion projects inspires and educates about the need for a more sustainable fashion industry, and how to achieve it.
