Guardian Trust helps ensure that redevelopment of "brownfields" doesn't create potentially dangerous environmental conditions.
There is growing concern that the public sector is ill equipped to manage the long-term stewardship of contaminated lands, such as Superfund sites and "brownfields". With no consistent approach to monitoring or reporting, there is insufficient public attention devoted to these looming environmental problem areas.
That's why we implemented a public/private partnership based on a trust mechanism to protect former site owners, developers and communities.
The Guardian Trust protects public health and the environment while facilitating sustainable redevelopment of contaminated land, including monitoring of sites and permits, financial and quality assurance, information management, long-term planning and community training.
Together, we can contain contamination.
